I've quoted her before, and I'm gonna do so again. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;I won't be voting for Democrats on Tuesday. I'm not going to vote for them for a number of reasons. first is taxes. While the Bush tax cuts may stay, they will be offset by a brand new set of taxes such as paygo taxes, which means that for every spending bill proposed, you have to raise the money to pay for it. You do this by either cutting current projects, or raising taxes. And the liberals in this area LOVE taxes. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The second reason is because I actually care about the people in the Military. What I've seen from liberals tells me they don't give a rat's *buttocks* about our soldiers. They don't care that the Military wants to be allowed to do it's job. They don't care that morale among combat units is EASILY as high as it is among units here in the states. They ignore the fact that re-enlistments are 110-120% of expected in units that actually see action in places like Iraq, indicating that our soldiers are willing to do what has been asked of them. I see the liberal stance on Iraq (The "Get us the (I'm trying to say a bad word but can't) out now" stance) as nothing short of a betrayal of the trust our soldiers have in the civilian leadership. The Liberals claim to care about our soldiers, but they don't. They care more about their own political agenda, which is two fold: Gain power, and make anyone who disagrees with them look like satan. When our Soldiers are deployed, they ask very little of us. But the one thing they ask is that they be allowed to finish their job. They want to know that their friends, their brothers and sisters, didn't die for nothing. In Vietnam, we betrayed that trust. 50,000 Americans died for no discernable purpose. In Somolia, we betrayed that trust, and 19 Americans died for no discernable purpose. and now, in Iraq, the Liberals are again threatening to betray the trust, just to prove a political point. So they can hold up our dead soldiers and say "We told you so." That makes me sick. And if this is standard from Liberals, then you can bet your *buttocks* I am going to be donating a considerable sum of money to the Republican party&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I agree with Kris 158.3% here. I mean, we've done it, or tried to anyways, at least once a decade since 1941. So, where do we get the nerve? The balls? The rationale for such actions? From the people who founded this country.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, Certainly it meant something different in 1776 when that quote was written, but I think today, it means that all people, the world over. When it was written, it litterally meant free, white, land-owning men. today it means more or less everyone. And not just Americans, either. This quote should be the reason we are committed to places like Iraq and Afghanistan, and to forcing reforms through political pressure in other places. The leaders of Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and the other countries in the Middle East that think playing "Bomb The Isrealis" is a good idea. They are historically inept, and as they say, those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. The Six Day war. Isreal V. Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq. Result: Isreal launches pre-emptive strikes against Egypt, and is attacked by the other three. Isreali forces, outnumber roughly six to one, inflict a 27.6 to 1 casualty ratio on the arab alliance. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Yom Kippur War: While the numbers of forces are more even (Isreal outnumbered 2:1), they still inflict an 8:1 casualty ratio on the Syria/Egypt/Jordan alliance. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. The 1982 Lebanon Conflict. Isreal finally outnumbers an opponent (by 2:1), and inflicts a nasty 14-1 Kill/Loss ratio. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone noticing a pattern here? THe one I'm noticing is that he who screws with Isreal is gonna get jacked up. What doesn't Syria, and Hezbullah (Sp?), and Iran and all those other idiots get about that? Joe”. He has stood the watch through the bright optimism of peace, and the darkness of war. For 230 years now, he has been there. He has many faces. He serves in every branch of the service, and continues to serve. He was there in the beginning, at Lexington and Concord; he froze with General Washington during that cold winter in Valley Force, and is a veteran of every campaign, every battle, and every skirmish from 1775 to today. He has seen it all. He has been everywhere. He served in every regiment in the Civil War, and charged San Juan Hill with the Rough Riders. He served with Commodore Dewey at Manila. He was in the trenches in France, and in the air overhead, too. He escorted troop ships across the Atlantic in two wars. He was stationed aboard USS Arizona on 7 December, 1941. He was at the beaches of Normandy, in the Ardennes, the islands of the Pacific, the Korean peninsula, and the jungles of Vietnam. He was a sailor aboard the USS Stark, and the USS Samuel B. Roberts in the 1980’s. It was he that led the way into Panama and Grenada. He flew strikes against Saddam in ’91, and led the charge to liberate Kuwait. He was a Ranger in Somalia, Flew air missions over the Balkans, and kept the peace for years in that troubled region. He was aboard the USS Cole on 20 October, 2000, and he was at the Pentagon on September 11th. It was he that struck the first retaliatory blows against Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. He was the first into Baghdad, and he still serves today in Iraq and Afghanistan, braving the dangers with a solemn commitment to defend our country, with his very life if need-be. His is the spirit of every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, and Coast Guardsman that is serving, has served, and will serve our great nation. He knows the joys of victory, and the bitterness of defeat. He is what all Americans should aspire to be: Kind, Caring, Brave, Selfless, and honorable. He embodies what it means to be an American. He has always been there to answer our nation’s call, and we shall never forget his sacrifice. So, here’s to you, Joe. We, the people, of the United States of America, salute you, and thank you for your service. Without your contributions, America would have been nothing but a small footnote in the history of the world. You are the greatest American, and your service shall never be forgotten.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Krissy's husband, brother, and 2 bothers in law all serve in the Military, either active or reserve, and I think she wrote it for them. Peter PaceWASHINGTON (NNS) -- I want to take this opportunity to recognize the extraordinary contributions of our nation's military families, who have faced many challenges - from family separations to frequent moves - with great courage. I would especially like to acknowledge a special source of inspiration: children of military families. You are patient and understanding when duty calls and your mom or dad cannot attend a soccer game, music recital, birthday party, or other important family or school activity. You are heroes in a quiet, thoughtful way, and I am grateful for the unconditional love you give your mom and dad. Many of you have experienced the sad and sometimes frightening experience of having your mom or dad far from home, serving around the globe in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Through your personal courage and support, you serve this nation, too - and I am proud of you! Frequent moves are a way of life for the military child. It is never easy to say goodbye to friends and familiar routines, to begin again in a new school, a new neighborhood - and sometimes a new country! PT with Chief and Mike went well Tuesday, but I haven't done a long run like that (Mile and a half) in forever, so my body wasn't used to it, and is still complaining to me. Need to get out and do it again, though. The more I run, the longer I'll be able to run, and the less the workouts will hurt. Now, my leg pains aren't entirely due to running. I have a bruise the size of a baseball on my right thigh. Thanks, Mike. Got beaned with one of his fastballs in the thigh. Now, I've never been a baseball player, so I'm not used to trying to catch something moving at 80 or 90 miles an hour. I play football. Footballs fly slower, the fastest usually around 60.  Transitioning from trying to catch a rather large football travelling at 60 miles an hour to a small baseball travelling at 85 miles an hour does require some adjustment. Thus the bruise on my thigh. Had it been a football, the result would have been a touchdown.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh, and yeah, I've pretty much given up on dating the stripper. I say Pretty much because I haven't completely. Let's just say, though, that I'm not actively pursueing it. You wanna know why I consider myself more of a conservative? Because at least you KNOW up-front the Republicans are in it for themselves and their friends; The Dems gotta lie and say they're all about the little guy, the minorities, the homeless, homosexuals, and whoever is the "Cause-Group-of-the-Day". How many homeless people do you think John Kerry had over for dinner this week?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He's got this one nailed on the head on all counts. I didn't make it to the polls for the Primary, so I'm not gonna comment a whole lot there...Ah, I do totally agree with his assessment of Dems and Repubs though, spot on 100%. I told my crew over on Myspace that I'll keep the politics off of that site, and keep it here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, I must get some general ranting and raving off my chest. Funny I should say chest because that's where the problems are. Actually, both of them are heart problems. Only one is physical. Some sort of viral infection. I'm fine, though, and with any luck I won't have to be out of work for the full 2 weeks. (I'm hoping to be back by Friday, since this weekend is supposed to be a rockin' one.) the other "heart" problem is more of an emotional one. See, there's this girl. She likes me, I like her. Sounds good, right? Here's the problem. She goes out with me, Things would be cool...except that she'd lose her job. Stop scratching your head and let me explain. Grandma and Grandpa B might not like this one, but I'll take the risk of broadcasting it openly. This young lady, her name is Theresa, happens to be a dancer...and I'm not talking ballet. See, she can't date customers. And I are a customer. Now, there are a couple of ways that we could hook up. Now, the first requires alot of patience. &lt;a href="http://crazypolitics.blogspot.com/"&gt;Crazy Politico&lt;/a&gt; can tell you that's not my strong suit. By patience I mean I'd wait until I leave for the Navy. It's my understanding that the rate I am going into, BM, doesn't have a very long school, either. So, we could start a relationship while I'm in the school. It then gets kinda tricky with a long-distance relationship (Unless I get stationed at Great Lakes after school.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The other option would be that I hit the Mega Millions tomorrow. 96 million is alotta money, and I've always had a thought about owning my own busines...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyways, I'm done rambling. Yesterday, Ol' Man winter decided to take another shot at us. we got about 4 inches here. Surprisingly, the City was actually able to keep up, at least on the main roads. However, I still hate snow. It's cold, it's wet, and it makes driving miserable. As a Pizza delivery specialist, I don't have the option of staying on the main roads. On the many occasions I had to take the side-streets, my little red Kia Rio felt like a big red pinball. I'm actually surprised that there isn't any serious damage to the front bumper of the car. I probably slid into the curb 5 or 6 times yesterday. After I got off work, I actually felt like I had played a football game. at 15 miles an hour, bouncing off the curb isn't the most pleasant feeling in the world. Imagine bumper cars, only faster, and the object you're hitting doesn't have any give to it. And then there's the customers. Many are generous folks who sympathise and throw a few extra bucks, but you still have the dickweeds who think a tip is the pointy part of a knife blade.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all yesterday could have gone alot worse ($87 on 22, an average of almost 3 dollars per run, plus mileage), but what really annoyed me was the thought that certain friends of mine were actually spending the day at the beach! I did have to go to the Antioch Domino's just as the snow was starting. The roads were slick then, but not bad, but 60 MPH actually felt like about 90 in those conditions. I say that because I was the only DJ who's show format was billed as "Country". You'd be surprised how often my friends come to me wanting to know who sang this song, or what song would be good for a certain situation. But, I think while I am known among my Peeps as a Country guy, what is overlooked is that to be a GOOD DJ, you have to appreciate music in general.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On my show, I've played everything from George Straight to Aerosmith to the Beetles. Bob Siegar made quite a few visits to the Suburban Cowboy's lineup. Alot of people would be surprised to learn just what songs I would list on a hypothetical top 100 for a radio show. A few surprises might be the new hit "I'm N Luv (wit a Strippa)" by rapper T-Pain, or "Angel" and "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy. Now that I've officially thrown you for a loop, How bout a few more not-so-surprising songs? Number One would have to be the greatest country song ever, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones. Somewhere in the top 10 is David Allen Coe's "You Don't Have to Call me By My Name". I love the ending... "It was raining, the day my mama got out of prison..." Yeah. Johnny Cash would obviously make a couple of appearences in the top twenty with "Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire", and possibly even "Folsom Prison Blues".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a fan of music, I can go from rocking to the soundtrack of Madden NFL 2006, which features a mix of NFL Films instrumentals such as "Ramblin' Man from Gramblin'", to rap songs remixed for the game, to an hour later listening to Johnny Horton as I deliver pizzas. That's a pretty good range, right there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And what about genre busting music? Certainly Elvis comes to mind, the King of Rock N' Roll gets alot of airtime on Country Oldies shows, but Elvis was a Country singer first. The Dixie Chicks, for all their political nonsense, are good artists, and their songs have made it big outside of Country, as have songs by Shania Twain, and a few others. Sherryl Crow and Kid Rock also busted Genres by having a top ten hit together with "Picture". But, if I am talking about Genre Busting, I have to mention Cowboy Troy. This guy isn't the first to blend the seemingly incompatable genres of Rap and Country, but he's the most famous of them to do it. His songs could get played on any rap station or any country station, or both. "Whoop Whoop", which my mom thinks is totally obscene (And she's right, it is!), would go great matched with "Baby Got Back".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't listen to Rap, R&amp;B, and the like that often, when I do it's usually at some social event or at the strip club, but I've learned to appreciate those forms of music. I'm still not sold on Punk Rock yet, though the Christian hard Rock is actually pretty cool. I know that sounds like another totally incompatable breeding of music, but it's actually pretty cool. a band around here called Soul Remedy really works the crowd with their hard-rocking gospel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While I cannot sing, and certainly can't play music, I still have a great appreciation for artists who can. I took some motrin, since I couldn't find the quicker-fixer-uper, Excedrin (the Head-ache Medicine. It works, I'm telling you.) the headache is gone, but so is the ability to go back to sleep at the moment. So, I was perusing my usual message boards, and I found the following by a friend of mine that I have known for many years, named Jim. Jim is a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Navy Reserves, and always has something to say about the War Protestors or people he just doesn't agree with. It's usually not nice, which is kind of odd that he never has anything nice to say about them, since his nickname is "Thumper". You know Thumper, the Bambi Charactor who said "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? Yeah, you see the oddity there. THe Thumper nickname is a long story, though. But, here's what he had to say.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span&gt;I'm tired of seeing banners that say "Bring our troops home". Yeah, you have the legal right to say it. Yes, you can do it. But, when will you learn that you are accomplishing NOTHING? You say the war that my friends and I fight is futile. Well, the war YOU and YOUR friends fight is also futile. No amount of protesting will bring my friends in Iraq and Afghanistan home. When we joined, we knew that there was a possibility of going to war. We're in the ARMED FORCES. We don't weave baskets. We fight wars. That's what we do. And once we go to war, we want to WIN it. So, sit down, shut up, and let US do OUR jobs, WIN the war (Which, by the way, we ARE doing, dispite what CNN and Ho-Dee would have you believe.) We don't need people at home campaigning the President or the Congress to bring us home. The only people who really have the power to bring us home is US. and the troops will come home. When the job is done. That is the bottom line. When the job is done and the war is won, and not one nanosecond before that. so, give it up. Sit down, shut up, put your banners away, and let us do our jobs. You want to help us out? Donate the money you would spend making a "No More War" banner to the USO. Donate the money you would be spending on the airplane ticket to DC for "The Big One" to any of the numerous Veterans' Services charities (Such as, but not limited to the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society.) Why? Because they see what their once great party has become. Once a great party full of great Americans, the Democratic Party has appearently decided that the way FDR and JFK done it ain't the way to do it now. A gentle, Compassionate, supporting way doesn't work, if you ask many of the louder voices. Today's Democratic party does not bear resemblence to the grand party that gave America two great men for Presidents, Kennedy and Roosevelt. Today's democratic party lacks the gentlemanly nature of days gone by, replacing love and compassion for all Americans with hate, anger, and resentment. the "classic" democrats would be downright offended by the behaviour of today's party, and I think might even consider abandoning it all together. they would be ashamed to be associated with the likes of Micheal Moore and Howard Dean, and be incensed that the Democrats would DARE to try and obstruct as much as today's party is doing. the Democrats of Old would work to find a way to work WITH the Republicans, rather than this petty partisanship we see today. Folks like Cindy Sheehan would never be allowed to attend the State of the Union, or any other Congressional or Governmental event as a guest of one of their party members. The Democrats today are indeed a far cry from that once-proud party of Franklin Roosevelt. they are a far cry from the Party that pushed for Civil Rights with John Kennedy. for the Democratic party to achieve major success in future elections, they need to return to the old style of doing things, for their present manner of going about business is the very reason George W. Bush got re-elected. In the days of old, Democrats would show leadership, and present SOLUTIONS, not just sit and criticise the problem. There is an old saying that if you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem, and that exemplifies today's Democrats. They have no solutions to what ailes the US, just criticism over the solutions the Bush Administration has put forward. The reason Democrats can't win is because they are being outdone by the Republicans. People see George Bush telling you what he wants to do to solve our problems. Many may not agree, but he's the only one providing any ideas. Howard Dean isn't providing them. Harry Ried isn't providing them. John Kerry isn't providing them. Show the people you have something to offer, other than hate and anger, and you will get votes. Do nothing, and you will lose elections. Face it, Democrats, your own party defeated ITSELF in 2004. If JFK had run his election campaign against George Bush's election campaign, George Bush would not be president. But, Democrats are blinded so much by their anger, that they would choose to be their presidential candidate a self-described War Criminal, while at the same time, they demand Bush's impeachment for committing "War Crimes". The hipocrasy! The Democrats should change their party's name, because right now, they are doing a disservice to the legacy of great men like Roosevelt and Kennedy. The US and Europe say they won't deal with Hamas, though in a recent press conference, it sounded as though El Presidente hinted that if Hamas were to renounce terror and lay down their arms, he might consider helping them. Hamas, however, is paying this no heed. According to Fox News, they appearently think things are just dandy. (Story &lt;a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,183109,00.html"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;) Here's my take on this. Hamas doesn't want to give up it's weapons, or renounce terror. That kinda makes the whole Middle East Peace Proccess alot more difficult. See, Peace is something that requires mutual cooperation to achieve. Right now, Hamas doesn't want to cooperate. So, I think the US and Europe should cut their aide for the Palestinian Authority (the "government" of the Palestinians), and let them go bankrupt. Once a unit becomes vacant, it will no longer be Section 8-Capable.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The "Close Encounter" is appearently part of a joint operation involving Zion Police Department, Illinois State Police, and the Feds to crack down on drugs in the City. Apearently, they want to make Zion another Gurnee. Well, this morning, oh, say, 10 minutes before I started writing this, I was returning from a rare early morning 7-11 run. I wanted to get some breakfast, but didn't want to go to McDonalds. I turned down the street I live on off of IL-173, and I saw something somewhat out of the ordinary. A police Officer with his dog, at one of the apartment buildings on the corner. As I got closer, naturally I slowed down. I didn't want to hit the Cop or his dog. That's just a hassle that I don't need to deal with at 7 AM. However, as I got closer, I noticed who this officer was talking to. A man, about 6'1", maybe 200 pounds, resembling one of the Delta Force guys from the movie "Black Hawk Down". I also noticed three of his buddies in what is refered to as a "Stack", next to one of the apartment doors. It would seem the ZPD decided to execute a SWAT-Enforced Drug Raid "At First Light". *Lights cigar, Imitating Will Smith in "Independance Day"* That's what I call a close encounter...of the heavily armed kind. Certain areas, such as Palatine, Gurnee and Beach Park recieving as much as 11 inches of Snow. For those of you reading this from exotic places such as San Diego, 11 inches is a hellatious amount of snow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It got so bad here in Zion that Domino's Pizza, for whom I deliver Pizzas, did something I never thought I'd see them do: They shut down a store early. Normally, we close at 1 AM Fridays and Saturdays. We closed at 10:45. even some of our customers couldn't believe it. When one customer called, the Manager, Kevin, answered the phone, "Thank you for choosing Domino's Pizza, I'm sorry, we're closed," the customer exclaimed "How the f*** can you be closed?" Kevin's response? "Have you looked outside lately? It is unsafe for me to have drivers on the road." Well, okay, so that may be alittle nicer than Kevin actually put it, but I never really know who reads my blog anyways. It is ALMOST impossible with a record of 4-12. I say almost because hypothetically, you COULD win your division at 4-12 (Assuming the rest of your division sucks worse) and make the playoffs, then have a hot-streak and go to the Big Game at 7-12. But, that's not what this is about. See, I think the NFL needs to honor the great venues of the NFL, places like Soldier Field in Chicago, and my beloved Lambeau up in Green Bay and give THEM a chance to host the Big One. Without, I should add, the need to violate such hallowed places by adding those dispicable Domes. Domes in the North are for the Weak. That's why Detroit sucks, and Minnesota hasn't done so well, either. Domes make for weak teams. Okay, you say the Colts. The Colts are good. According to &lt;a href="http://www.packers.com"&gt;www.packers.com&lt;/a&gt;, Samkon Gado will miss the rest of the season with a Medial Collateral (Sp?) Ligament injury. He's expected to miss three weeks, but the season ends in 2. Only 2 weeks left in the season, that's about the only good news I've heard in a while.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gado story &lt;a href="http://packers.com/news/stories/2005/12/20/5/"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, as long as we're talking stories on the above link, Anyone see Rodgers play last night?
